Prescription Guidelines
We would like to advise our clients of our prescription policies

Repeat Prescriptions:
We ask that all clients order repeat prescriptions at least three working days before they are needed. An exception to this would be for certain drugs which require a longer order period due to our drug courier service. In which case, this can take up to five working days.
For prescriptions required as a matter of urgency, an additional fee of £10 will be applied. This would also depend on our stock levels for specific medication.

Written Prescriptions:
Written prescriptions are available from this practice.
You may order Prescription Only Medicines-Veterinary (POM-Vs) from your Veterinary Surgeon OR ask for a written prescription. This will allow you to obtain the medicine in question from another Veterinary supplier or pharmacy.
There is a charge for a written prescription fee:
£22.50 for a single item on a single prescription
£36.00 for up to three items on a single prescription
Your Veterinary Surgeon can only prescribe POM-V’s for animals under their care.

Medication Reviews
Regarding medication that is required long term, the general policy of this practice (and of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons) is to have frequent medication reviews for our patients to determine what the best course of action is for them. These can happen every 3-6 months (depending on both condition and/or individual circumstances). Of which, the medication reviews would incur the standard consultation fee of £52.80. _________________________________________________________________________________
You will be informed, on request, of the price of any medicine that may be dispensed for your animal. Further information regarding prices of medicines is also available on request.
